Please let me introduce myself. I am Cynthia Bannen a full time licensed realtor. I am with Our Town Properties, Inc. located at 3301 Nash St. NW, Suite E Wilson N.C. I could not have found a better more honorable company for which to work.
I was born and raised in South Africa, on the south coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. I enjoyed the most beautiful beaches in the world as my playground. I learned to body surf at a very young age. One of the youngest from a large family, I travelled and lived in different parts of SA to be with siblings. At the young age of 21, my first international trip was to NZ to be with family, which was the start of my many trips abroad. My travels took to me to Mauritius, Singapore, New Zealand, Hawaii, Australia, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg, England, France, sailed from Portugal up the Mediterranean stopped in Spain then onto Monte Carlo – the South of France - Avignon – Paris. From there I took a ferry across the English Channel to the White Cliffs of Dover and caught a train to London.
My first main land trip to the USA was to Greenville SC. I fell in love with the quaint city nestled in the Foothill Mountains and its people. I met my husband there. We were married in my home town in South Africa. Our first child was born in South Africa. Our two younger children were born in Greenville, SC. Greenville SC is the fastest growing city in the SE. We watched suburbia mushroom around us to where we lived in the country. My curiosity got the better of me and I started to visit the new neighborhoods, I loved to window shop the model homes, and soon I developed a real taste for Real Estate. The desire had been sparked by my many travels as I love to see how different cultures live and get to know new people.
You could say building is in my blood. My father was a master craftsman and worked in the building industry for many years. I loved to watch him work. Home is such a personal thing, a place to be safe and watch our loved ones grow. It’s a place we love to go to and miss when we are away. I’ve enjoyed every minute of owning my own home and love helping others achieve their dreams of home ownership.
I’ve enjoyed North Carolina now since 2003. We arrived in Wilson, NC when our three children were quite young. Being part of a small town has allowed them many opportunities that would not have been possible in a large city. Now that they are older, I’m pursuing my dream in Real Estate and haven’t looked back. I love my clients, getting to know them, and helping them achieve their goals of either purchasing a new home or helping them get their home on the market.
